Asbestos Surveying & Monitoring Ltd · Part of F&I Group
Asbestos expertise. Wider construction capability. One Group route.
ASM brings specialist asbestos surveying, testing, analytical and removal capability into the wider F&I Group environment — giving clients access to coordinated asbestos, scaffolding, roofing, construction, safety systems, solar PV, battery storage, energy-efficiency and property services.
ASM within F&I Group
Specialist asbestos services backed by wider construction capability
Many projects begin with asbestos but do not end there.
A refurbishment may require an intrusive asbestos survey, removal, scaffolding, roof replacement, construction work and permanent access systems. A decarbonisation programme may involve asbestos investigation, roof works, scaffold access, insulation, solar PV and battery storage.
As part of F&I Group, ASM can support the asbestos workstream while drawing on specialist businesses across the wider Group where the project needs a coordinated multi-discipline solution.
Each discipline continues to operate under the licences, accreditation, certification and technical responsibilities applicable to that particular activity.
- One Group route for complementary work packages
- Earlier coordination between surveys, removal, access and construction
- Reduced interfaces between unrelated specialist contractors
- Support from initial investigation through to follow-on works
- Suitable for individual buildings, major projects and multi-site programmes
Corporate & Major Projects
National asbestos programmes and complex projects
ASM supports more than individual asbestos instructions. Corporate clients, facilities teams, property investors and project managers can use a structured national route covering multi-site asbestos management, major construction programmes, property acquisitions, renewable-energy assets and ongoing estates. Where a project extends beyond asbestos, relevant construction, access, roofing, safety-system and energy capability can also be coordinated through the wider F&I Group.
National account support for organisations requiring consistent surveying, testing, management, analytical and remediation services across multiple assets.

Integrated project route
How a multi-discipline project can come together
The advantage is not simply having more services available. It is being able to consider how each specialist package interacts with the next.
ASM surveys, samples and reviews asbestos information.
Define removal, access, analytical and follow-on construction needs.
Applicable non-licensed, NNLW or HSE-licensed asbestos route.
Scaffolding and temporary access coordinated around the works.
Roofing, construction, safety and renewable-energy measures.
Coordinated handover and completion of the wider project programme.
Where the Group approach adds value
Projects that naturally need more than one specialist trade
Roof replacement containing asbestos
ASM can investigate roof sheets, soffits, undercloaks, insulation and associated materials before the building fabric is disturbed.
Where required, asbestos remediation, scaffolding, roofing and permanent roof-safety measures can then be coordinated through the appropriate F&I Group businesses.
Housing decarbonisation programmes
Existing housing upgrades can involve asbestos surveys, environmental cleans, scaffold access, roof replacement, insulation, ventilation, solar PV and battery storage.
These complementary disciplines already sit within the wider F&I Group environment.
Commercial refurbishment
Refurbishment programmes may require an intrusive asbestos survey, removal, soft strip, temporary access, structural alterations, roofing and permanent safety equipment.
Earlier coordination can reduce clashes between separate contractors and improve sequencing.
Demolition & redevelopment
ASM can support demolition survey and asbestos planning before structural work begins, with removal, analytical support, construction and redevelopment interfaces considered as part of the wider programme.
Education & public estates
Schools, healthcare estates, local authorities and property portfolios often need surveys, asbestos management, roof programmes, scaffolding and energy upgrades across multiple occupied buildings.
New-build & development
The wider Group also extends into new-build residential development, roofing, integrated renewables, construction and future building-access requirements.
F&I Group delivery in practice
Real projects demonstrating joined-up capability
Current F&I Group projects demonstrate how different specialist disciplines can be brought together across housing, roofing, scaffolding and energy programmes.

Licensed and non-licensed asbestos capability within F&I Group
ASM directly undertakes appropriate non-licensed and notifiable non-licensed asbestos work using trained and competent personnel and project-specific controls.
Where a project requires an HSE-licensed asbestos contractor, the licensed element can be delivered through Flowing Construction Services Ltd within F&I Group.
Flowing Construction Services operates under HSE asbestos licence 202505985.
This provides a coordinated route covering initial survey information, classification of the work, removal planning, analytical requirements, access and relevant construction interfaces.
UKAS accreditation number 32982 applies to the defined inspection and testing activities and locations shown on ASM's current UKAS schedules. Asbestos removal, roofing, scaffolding, construction, energy installation and other Group services are not described as UKAS-accredited activities unless a specific accreditation applicable to that service states otherwise.
