A Management Survey is not automatically suitable for intrusive refurbishment

The survey supports normal building use. If refurbishment will disturb walls, floors, ceilings, service routes or concealed fabric, the existing information must be checked against the work scope and a Refurbishment Survey completed where necessary.

Frequently asked questions

Management Survey Inverness FAQs

What is a Management Asbestos Survey?

It provides information about ACMs that may be disturbed during normal occupation, routine maintenance and foreseeable building use.

Does it complete the duty to manage?

No. The survey supplies evidence. The dutyholder must still maintain the register, assess priorities, communicate information and implement a management plan.

Can it be used before refurbishment?

Not automatically. Intrusive work may require a Refurbishment Survey covering the exact areas and building elements that will be disturbed.

Are samples analysed by ASM?

Where samples are required, analysis can be undertaken through ASM's UKAS-accredited Sunderland laboratory within its applicable scope.
