Is asbestos-in-soils work UKAS accredited?
Soil consultancy and remediation are not described as UKAS-accredited activities. Any analytical testing or air monitoring must be described against its applicable accredited scope.
What if one fragment is found during excavation?
Stop or control work in the affected area under the project procedure, prevent further spread and obtain competent advice. One fragment should be assessed in the wider site context.
Can a building asbestos survey assess made ground?
No. Building surveying and contaminated-land assessment are different scopes. Former structures and demolition residues may connect them, but each needs suitable evidence.
What can validation records include?
They can include work areas, methods, photographs, waste movements, inspection records, analytical evidence where applicable and the limitations of the completed scope.
