Asbestos sampling in Leeds with accredited analysis
If you have one or a small number of suspect materials, we can attend, take representative samples using controlled methods and arrange analysis at our UKAS-accredited Sunderland laboratory.
Do not break or scrape a suspect material to make a sample. If it is damaged, dusty or has already been disturbed, keep people away and call for advice before cleaning.
A focused answer for a known material
Sampling can be appropriate where the item is already identified and you need a reliable result. It does not replace a survey when the whole property or a construction scope must be assessed.
Home improvements
Check a specific textured coating, board, floor product, cement item or other suspect material before disturbing it.
Commercial maintenance
Resolve a defined material before drilling, access, repair or replacement work.
Damaged material
Obtain professional advice, controlled collection and an evidence-based next action.
Multiple unknowns
If several areas or materials may be affected, an asbestos survey is usually the more complete route.

It does not confirm that the rest of a room, building or project area is asbestos-free. A non-detected result from one material should never be used to clear unrelated materials for disturbance.

Asbestos sampling FAQs
How much does asbestos sampling cost in Leeds?
Professional collection and analysis commonly costs about £80 to £200 plus VAT, depending on location, access, number of materials and urgency. We confirm a written quote before attendance.
Can I bring my own sample to the Leeds office?
Our accredited bulk analysis laboratory is in Sunderland, not Leeds. Use the laboratory booking route and follow the supplied submission instructions rather than arriving at the Leeds office with an unannounced sample.
Is one asbestos sample enough?
Only when it is representative of the specific material you need assessed. Different layers, visually different areas or separate products may require separate samples. A site survey is better for multiple unknowns.
How fast are asbestos sample results?
Turnaround depends on the service selected and when the sample is received. Standard and urgent options are available, but confirm the deadline before submitting or booking a visit.
What does an asbestos sample report tell me?
It states whether asbestos was detected in the analysed sample and identifies the asbestos fibre type where present. It does not certify the whole property as asbestos-free.
